Here’s a list of blogs which I visit and learn from regularly. These blogs exhibit the traits of what I think are great blogs (you can read about the traits here) any internet marketer can learn from.

I have previously posted about Yaro’s blog here. Yaro is one of the few bloggers who I feel really wants others to benefit from his past experiences in setting up an online business. You can see this from the great articles he has written.

Be sure to check his articles. They are really helpful for anyone new to internet marketing to know what running an online business is like from the beginning.

Michel Fortin is a very skilled copywriter and had experienced great success with clients he has worked with. He once written a salesletter for John Reese which brought in $1 MILLION in a SINGLE day. He knows his stuff.

Just take a look at his clients he has worked with here. Big names such as Jay Abraham(!!), Mark Joyer, Stephen Pierce, Mike Filsaime, Yanik Silver…When you are around in the internet marketing niche for some months, you will recognize a lot of those VERY BIG names, including those who unfortunately are no longer with us. Gary Halbert, Corey Rudl…

Most of his blog posts are all about how to write sales copy that sells, how to understand what your prospects are thinking about. EXCELLENT learning materials from a master copywriter…for free!

This blog start out late Dec ‘06.

And upon reflection, it has been a very chaotic place to find my way around. Things happen so fast…new products are being released constantly and I also discover various new traffic generation techniques every month. Information Overload.

Back then, it has been rather difficult for me to settle down and work on a few techniques at one time. All those new information on how to bring traffic to my site or new ways to earn money online are rather intriguing, and always seem more interesting than what I was currently working on at that moment.

I guess I am not alone in being swarmed by information that comes in at a unforgiving pace when I first started out. I have difficulty taking everything in. Often we end up chasing all those information and not really implementing what we learned effectively, and we end up with no results. We shouldn’t even attempt to absorb all those information in the first place. But the problem is, we still do. Why?

From my own experience so far, I think anyone who’s new to Internet Marketing face this problem due to 2 reasons.

  • Being exposed to too much information/sales letters/promotions in one go - There’s lots of hype and powerful sales letters written by experts out there in the Internet Marketing/Work at Home industry. It’s very easy for anyone to get excited about new information and forget about what they already know, or that they may already have that new information in their minds.
  • Not discipline/focused enough - Exposure to unnecessary/distracting information is inevitable. We all face this wherever we go, not just in Internet Marketing. The problem is that a lot of newbies do not have the focus and patience to really, effectively, take action on the information they already have (I was guilty of this myself Blush). They keep jumping around once they think the grass is greener and better on the other side. Nothing is better when they haven’t really taste the grass yet.

In view of these 2 reasons, I going to write what I have learned personally over the past 6 months and my personal recommendations on how to prevent or control the 2 problematic reasons I mentioned above. It’s gonna be a long post, but I hope anyone who’s new to Internet Marketing will be able to learn something useful here and better equipped to handle the coming storm of information overload.

Yaro Starak’s www.Entrepreneurs-Journey.Com

Yaro Starak is a successful entrepreneur from Australia, has created, managed and sold several different Internet businesses since 1998.

His blog is one of the most content rich sites I have came across so far, along with Michel Fortin’s blog on copywriting (which I posted about here). I have came across numerous blogs from online entrepreneurs who may be more successful than Yaro, but unfortunately the posts of some of these blogs are nothing more than sales pitches, either announcing/promoting their own products or recommending other products using their own affiliate links.

There isn’t much you can learn from these guys when they are basically trying to sell you something most of the time. But Yaro’s is very passionate about teaching others what he had learned and experienced. He has TONS of very informative articles and posts on what he has experienced and the lessons he learned while building his online businesses and getting to where he is right now.

I just finished 2 of his posts at this blog, one of which is about him gaining instant credibility when Mike Filsaime singled Yaro out during a conference he was at. During the following break he was approached by numerous offers which are beneficial to his business. Towards the end of that post he gave some short tips on how to network with people, especially speakers.

As I just realized the significance and importance of networking at such events/seminars/conferences several weeks ago at World Internet Summit, I thought I have to post this to let any visitors read more about this.

One other post I like to highlight is being aware of the sales pitches when attending conferences, making sure you think carefully about what you need and making the right decisions before you purchase those courses worth thousands. I made that mistake 1 year and a half ago when I purchased StoresOnline, and I immediately clicked with what he stated there. Here’s the post, make sure you read it.

Well, Ms. Holly Mann gave a reply yesterday and we had a long discussion on Yahoo Messenger.

What we are going to do, what are we going to name our product, who do what, transferring of files to work on, and some friendly chat.

The discussion yesterday also somehow allowed another weakness of mine to manifest itself…perfectionism? Halfway through I started to rumble through the process of what we are going to do…how are we going to promote the product through multiple channels, how are we going to accept the payments…

“but we can take it step by step..” Holly stated.

Hmm…that stopped me and got me thinking…we have not even come up with the website yet, and I’m talking about how customers are going to pay us. I think I thought too far ahead without even starting on needs to be done first.

I guess this is one of the ways I have subconsciously held myself back for the past few months…thinking too much ahead and when I can’t see very clearly what’s at the end of the road, I abandon the entire idea altogether without even getting far into it.

Armand Morin stated at World Internet Summit 2007:

“RHINOS CHARGE FIRST, ASK QUESTIONS LATER.”

Interesting! But still have to keep things in balance though. Knowing roughly what’s going to appear at the end of all this is still much better than not knowing anything at all.

Another lesson learned!

Back to work!

HollyandKaiAtWIS2007Who’s that bespectacled guy on the left? Well, that’s me. And this will be another long post.

But I guess the first person anyone will be looking at in this pic will the pretty lady in white on the right. Who cares about that guy on the left?

Well who is she? She’s Ms. Holly Mann, author of Honest Riches 2, a GREAT book on Internet Marketing for newbies. It’s a fantastic book which I am still using right now, and I have an extensive review of the book right here. If you scroll down along my blog you should be able to see a picture of Honest Riches 2 on the right.

That’s right! I ran into her on the last day of World Internet Summit 2007! What a delightful coincidence!

But why did I post this only now, 5 days after the seminar? It’s because I did not bring any cameras along as I did not intend to really meet up with people…taking photos together or what not. The photo above was taken using Holly’s camera, and due to problems connecting to the Internet and time constraints (She’s a busy lady earning US$12K per month!) she could only send me the photo we took together just yesterday.

That highlights a chronic problem I have. I usually don’t like to mix around, making new friends. If you read my previous post on my experience at WIS 2007, I stated the following;
