5 Great Internet Marketing Blogs (for Noobs) - Are You Reading One of Them?
Posted by: Thien Kai Wei in Internet Marketing Recommendations, PersonalHere’s a list of blogs which I visit and learn from regularly. These blogs exhibit the traits of what I think are great blogs (you can read about the traits here) any internet marketer can learn from.
- Yaro Starak’s Entrepreneur’s Journey at http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/
I have previously posted about Yaro’s blog here. Yaro is one of the few bloggers who I feel really wants others to benefit from his past experiences in setting up an online business. You can see this from the great articles he has written.
Be sure to check his articles. They are really helpful for anyone new to internet marketing to know what running an online business is like from the beginning.
- Michel Fortin’s blog on copywriting at http://www.michelfortin.com/
Michel Fortin is a very skilled copywriter and had experienced great success with clients he has worked with. He once written a salesletter for John Reese which brought in $1 MILLION in a SINGLE day. He knows his stuff.
Just take a look at his clients he has worked with here. Big names such as Jay Abraham(!!), Mark Joyer, Stephen Pierce, Mike Filsaime, Yanik Silver…When you are around in the internet marketing niche for some months, you will recognize a lot of those VERY BIG names, including those who unfortunately are no longer with us. Gary Halbert, Corey Rudl…
Most of his blog posts are all about how to write sales copy that sells, how to understand what your prospects are thinking about. EXCELLENT learning materials from a master copywriter…for free!
- John Chow’s blog on making money online at http://www.johnchow.com/
I personally feel that John Chow’s blog is not really on specific marketing techniques…but rather on marketing itself. His posts are rather interesting, such as his recent post talking about Mercedes Benz selling a different version of the CLK63 AMG Black Series sports coupe to the American market.
Why sell a different CLK63 coupe to the American market? He explained that Mercedes recognizes their American customers are bigger (or fatter…) than customers from their European market, and has the original, thin and unadjustable cloth seats swapped out for leather seats to make the car more comfortable for American customers.
His blog is definitely interesting to read. He stated his blog contains “The Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Dot Com Mogul”, and he posts on a variety of stuff, where you can learn a thing or two about making money online.
He likes supercars too! (Like me! Except I can’t afford one…)
- Darren Rowse’s Problogger.net at http://www.problogger.net/
In my opinion, Darren Rowse is one of the biggest authority on entrepreneurial blogging and how to make money from it. His blog is standing at No. 22 in Technorati’s list of the top 100 most popular blogs. Darren has been blogging for some years now, and has several sites under his belt.
He has lots of tips and articles on how to generate traffic to your blog…what tools to use…all in easy to read and digestible form. It’s quite amazing to think that Darren has the time to put up multiple high quality posts in a single day.
One of the better articles which I am still reading and working on is “How to Market Your Blog In 2007″ It’s not written by Darren himself, but still it’s a great read and it lists all the current trends in blog marketing.
- Ladan Lashkari’s Internet Marketing blog at http://www.ladanlashkari.com/
Ladan Lashkari is a lady from Iran, about the same age as me. And more successful too. At the age of 16, she visited the late Corey Rudl’s website on Internet marketing and brought his course then, and jumped right into the world of Internet Marketing.
Before this, before she’s 16, she has already been trying out starting a business such as teaching others how to use Windows, how to use Photoshop…Really this entrepreneur is amazing, already starting out before she’s even 16 and against the political, economical, and religious obstacles she faced AS A WOMEN (or girl when she first started) in Iran.
What was I doing when I was 16? Oh! I was still playing Command & Conquer, and wasting away on other computer games…
Anyway, her blog, though it may not be as deep and informative as older bloggers such as Michel or Darren, is packed with short useful information on the numerous aspects of running an online business. How to write an ebook, how to manage your time, networking skills…the like. In fact I found Michel Fortin’s blog through a post she made some time ago.
Personally, I find her blog to be sort of an inspiration source, especially since she’s the same age as me. If she can do it, and do it even though she faces all those problems in her country of residence and the culture she’s in, I can do it too.
I found 2 blogs below recently. Though I have not really follow them, I think you should check out too.
- Gobala Krishnan’s Internet Marketing blog at http://www.gobalakrishnan.com/
Gobala Krishnan is a Malaysian living in Kuala Lumpur. His blog is similar to Ladan’s…posting tips and his experiences in building online business. He recently just managed to hit his $10,000 monthly in earnings, which is quite substantial.
I personally have not really went through his blog having found him just 2 weeks ago, but so far I think it is worth checking out.
- CopyBlogger at http://www.copyblogger.com
CopyBlogger is very similar to Michel Fortin’s blog on copywriting. It’s stuffed full of articles on how to write sales copy and how to sell to your customers. From the looks of the number of comments and the quality of the articles (read one of them last week, it GREAT)…it’s definitely another blog which you should bookmark. You will learn a lot from there.
———–
Right, that’s it for this post. I have been following 5 of the blogs I stated here for some time now and have really learned alot from the authors, especially from Yaro and Michel Fortin. It really nice of them to post so much useful materials for free. You should really check them out.
Finally, please be aware of yourself. Do not just keep reading and absorbing the information; you have to take action too. It’s quite addictive, at least for me, to try to read all the information before I put things into action to get the best results possible. It’s just not going to work that way.
Yaro also stated recently that those who are new to entrepreneurial blogging should spend more time coming up with their own content than to spend too much time reading other blogs, however informative they may be.
Try to seek a balance, and spend serious time on writing your own materials for your own blog for your own readers.

Great advice. Thanks so much. I have the problem of reading to much and not doing. I have changed that lately. I’m finding that I can do this. I have had over 1000 visitors now to my site. I never really thought I could do it. I can, I can.
